Final table strategy

Final table strategy should be the culmination of your poker success throughout the course of a tournament. The goal you have now is to move up one spot at a time and get to heads up play. If you can succeed at reaching that goal then you should try and win the tournament. When you enter a multi table tournament your ultimate goal is to win it. You will need to be very lucky along the way and win a lot of coin flips throughout the course of the tournament, but if you do reach that final table it makes it that much more sweet. If you have made the final table whether it be from luck or making confident reads and strong plays at weak players you will be in position to have a big pay day.

When starting a final table even if you are in 5th in chips out of 9 players you still have a good chance to win the tournament. If you are at the middle of the pack you will just need one hand to get yourself to play shorthanded poker. If you can have one big hand hold up or get lucky in one pot to double your stack up you are now in great shape. If you do get unlucky losing with a big pair or a hand like AK it happens and you will have something to work for in the next tournament. If you can win that one race that is when you can propel yourself to having a big stack or be chip leader in the tournament. When you do win a big pot you should keep going and try to pick blinds and antes up to build on your stack more. When you are playing with confidence and a focused mind that is the powerful thing and could take over a table and run over your opponents.

If you can begin to run over a table after doubling your stack you will be putting yourself in great shape. If you do happen to pick up another big hand you will get paid off most of the time by a weaker one because of your now loose table image. If you can use your image to your advantage you can figure out hands a lot easier and make decisions not as difficult. If you leave what the poker bonus money increases are out of your consideration when playing a hand it will be for your advantage. Most of the table will see your aggression and chip stack and fold to pressure if you are consistently applying it. Once in a while they will make a call or an all-in raise and you can lay your hand down. Picking up the blinds at this point in the tournament is vital to success because they are so big at this point, and worth getting. If you can stay aggressive and pick good spots at a final table you will have the best chance at success.
