Playing Suited Connectors

Playing Suited Connectors should be the part of your game where you can confuse your opponent into losing a big pot. A lot of the time playing suited connectors isn’t the best idea unless you have good odds to try and make a hand. For instance, if a bunch of players limp in to the pot before you then the odds for you to call the big blind go up. If you can see cheaper flops with suited connectors then that is the best way to go about playing them. Also, you want to be playing hands in position rather than playing out of position. The reason you want to play in position is because you can bet draws on the come and later allow yourself to see free cards. When you can see a free card with a draw and get there nothing feels better than that, so, play from the button or late position limping into hands if the odds are right.

Other times you can disguise a hand like an 89 if you open the pot for a raise. Making 89 look like a big pair or big cards is pretty common and can induce folds. But, also you can hit a big flop and get check raised with your opponent drawing close to dead on you. If you disguise the hand correctly you will get paid off a lot of the time because your opponent will be dumb founded if you shove all-in on a 567 board. A lot of the time if they are the one with the big pair an 89 suited is one of the better hands to crack it with and can crack it with. Players will be more comfortable with a king high board rather than a small connected board when playing big pairs. Mainly, players when they do have big pairs try to not fold them at all costs, and you can get your poker bonus money in as a favorite if the right board comes.

Opening the pot with big suited connectors like AK suited or QK can allow you to build a big pot up, and possibly win a big pot. If you see a monster flop with AK suited like A94 with 2 diamonds, even if your opponent is holding AK also, you are free rolling to try and make the nuts. The best feeling in poker is to know you have no way of losing a hand. When you can get all the money in on a flop like that with a big suited connector you will be winning more times than losing in a game like no limit. Even if you aren’t winning the entire pot; but rather chopping the hand because you missed the flush, you will have better odds and more chances to win than the other player in the hand. With a hand like AK suited it does look better than it plays sometimes, but the times that it does hit you will almost definitely have the better hand and get paid off.
